Position Title: Lead Trainer – Drivers 

Reports to: Depot Manager 

Position Type: Fixed Term Contract   

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, United States 

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

As Lead Trainer – Drivers, you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering a world-class training program for motorcoach drivers and depot operations staff supporting the FIFA World Cup 2026™ in Kansas City. 

 

This position will lead the design, coordination, and execution of all driver route training programs, depot operations training, and dispatch readiness activities. You will ensure that all drivers, trainers, and depot personnel are fully prepared to deliver safe, efficient, and customer-focused transport services during the event. 

 

This is a fast-paced and dynamic role, ideal for professionals experienced in large-scale event training and operational delivery. This role will transition to a Lead Depot Dispatcher role during the Tournament. 

All applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

LEADERSHIP & PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT 

  • Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive training program for motorcoach drivers.
  • Develop and oversee depot operations training, ensuring seamless dispatch and return processes.
  • Lead the creation of a training plan for the Depot Operations Centre, ensuring clear operational alignment across teams.
  • Provide strategic input to ensure training aligns with the event’s operational goals and service standards.
  • Manage a team of trainers who will transition into dispatch roles during live operations.

OPERATIONAL READINESS 

  • Coordinate with depot operations to organize and position vehicles according to dispatch schedules.
  • Ensure training materials, route guides, and operational documentation are accurate and up to date.
  • Lead simulation exercises, route testing, and readiness trials to validate training effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with key functional teams to integrate training outcomes into live operations.
  • Support daily readiness briefings and debriefings during the event period. 

WORKFORCE COORDINATION 

  • Collaborate with HR and Workforce teams to plan and schedule training sessions for all drivers and depot personnel.
  • Oversee delivery of “Train-the-Trainer” sessions to ensure consistent and standardized instruction.
  • Ensure all staff are briefed, accredited, and equipped to deliver excellent service and maintain operational safety.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and pride in delivery. 

SAFETY, COMPLIANCE & QUALITY 

  • Ensure all training aligns with regulatory, safety, and event compliance requirements.
  • Incorporate driver welfare and safety practices into all training materials.
  • Conduct post-training evaluations and implement continuous improvement processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of all training sessions, assessments, and certifications.

 

PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT 

  • Represent TMS with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in all meetings and communications.
  • Ensure timely response to all communications and maintain organized documentation within company systems.
  • Being flexible with working hours — this role will require extended hours, weekends, and event-period commitments.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Proven ability to design and deliver large-scale training programs.
  • Ability to use Video editing software
  • Strong understanding of depot operations, driver dispatch processes, and route planning.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective people management and leadership capabilities.
  • Sound knowledge of scheduling and time management principles.
  • Understanding of driver welfare standards.
  • Familiarity with Kansas City event venues and surrounding areas is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in training, transport operations, or event management.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale training programs, preferably in transport or event environments.
  • Previous involvement in complex event operations, ideally at FIFA World Cup™, Olympic, or equivalent scale.
  • Experience in international and U.S. major events, within transport, logistics, or venue planning.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Proficient in English (written and oral).
