Position Summary

AMBFO’s Finance team is looking for a resourceful and independent Manager who will report to the Vice President.  This full-time position is responsible for managing a small staff and traditional accounting and finance duties including financial statement preparation/review, cash forecasting, treasury, budgeting, insurance, and long-range planning.  This role will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management.  The ideal candidate will be an over-communicator, ask great questions, always be willing to learn, and wants to continuously improve/be challenged.  

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts in compliance with GAAP; including intercompany processing and balancing;
  • Review analysis of financial statements, commentary on significant variances, and key performance indicators;
  • Review consolidated financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Statements of Cash Flows;
  • Weekly and Annual cash management/forecasting;
  • Assist the Vice President with the insurance needs of the organization;
  • Partner with Finance and operational staff to identify and solve business problems, support, and help lead strategic growth initiatives, and improve operating results;
  • Manage the creation of the annual budget;
  • Calculate annual shared services allocation and collaborate with other Blank Family of Businesses companies about the shared services allocation.
  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, fixed assets records, etc.
  • Manage team, and continued development of the assigned finance and accounting personnel;
  • Ad-hoc internal reporting and financial analysis;
  • Assist the Vice President in researching accounting treatment for complex transactions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; 5-7 years’ accounting experience showing progressive assignments and responsibilities; including 2-3 years previous management experience;
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word, with Windows-based accounting system knowledge;
  • Solid understanding of GAAP; demonstrated aptitude for GL systems, sub-systems, and interfaces; demonstrated ability to deliver GL system and reporting process improvements; thrives in a small team environment with moderate-to-low supervision; high regard for confidentiality; strong analytical skills; positive attitude; excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent time management and organizational skills; high level of attention to detail; and flexibility to work extended hours.

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred

  • Knowledge of financial planning and analysis, finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including GAAP.
  • Ability to use judgment and professional skills in determining appropriate procedures for the preparation of accounting records.
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting business intelligence software applications.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information.
