Who are we hiring?
The Manager of Fleet Operations plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the Kansas City Current’s vehicle fleet, parking, and transportation services across all facilities. This leadership position is responsible for developing and executing strategies that elevate the experience for players, employees and guests, while ensuring alignment with departmental goals and financial performance targets and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations.
What will you do?
Leadership & Coordination
  • Lead, coordinate and collaborate across the team to deliver high-quality transportation and fleet services, supporting seamless logistics for travel and events.
  • Manage project resources—including labor, materials, and equipment—to ensure optimal efficiency and minimal waste.
  • Partner with external vendors and contractors to maintain strong relationships and coordinate ongoing work effectively.
Fleet Management: Responsible for our full transportation fleet, including trolleys, team buses, box trucks, golf carts, and personal vehicles. 
  • Ensure all vehicles are appropriately licensed, insured, and registered in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, branded, and professional vehicle appearance consistent with organizational standards.
  • Oversee maintenance and fueling schedules to ensure all vehicles are operational, safe and meet performance standards for guest, team and equipment transport.
  • Manage and log all scheduled and unscheduled vehicle maintenance and repairs.
  • Notify staff of upcoming maintenance and coordinate logistics to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records for all vehicle documentation including titles, registration, insurance cards, and license plates.
  • Acquire and track titles for all new and existing fleet assets.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state and local regulations, including but not limited to: DOT, emissions, inspections and driver licensing.
Parking & Transportation Logistics
  • Oversee the development and execution of parking plans, including traffic flow and permit management, in collaboration with the Parking Coordinator.
  • Coordinate the logistics of vehicles, trailers, and equipment across departments for specific event day needs.
  • Maintain proper storage of all vehicles, trailers, and equipment during off-use periods.
 
Qualifications: 
  • 5+ years of fleet experience with an equivalent combination of educational and professional work experience; inclusive of a bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree and/or equivalent experience, in fleet, automotive, transportation or similar field.
  • Required to have a valid driver’s license, preferred to have a current CDL– or an ability to obtain a CDL within one year.
  • Ability to operate various equipment.
  • Vehicle maintenance knowledge to recognize basic maintenance needs and/or recommended repairs. 
  • Required to have knowledge of compliance and regulations with MoDOT and OSHA; preferred to have working experience with MoDot and OSHA.
  • Strong initiative and ability to operate with minimal oversight.
  • Management of time efficiently to co-ordinate schedules, meet deadlines and serve both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS applications such as MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.

Special requirements of the Job: 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
  • Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives. 
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs. 
  • Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions. 
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead to handle various tasks related to facility management, equipment, and event preparation.
  • Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms as needed.
