Reporting organizationally to the Senior Manager for Intelligence, the Specialist, Intelligence Analyst will be a key member of the FIFA26 Intelligence team, and work in close collaboration with the Safety & Security department and other key individuals responsible for delivering a safe and secure environment for players, fans, and stakeholders worldwide.
THE POSITION
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Specialist, Intelligence Analyst for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
Intelligence Collection and Analysis
Collect and analyze intelligence specific to Mexico, FIFA World Cup 2026, and the football environment to identify potential security threats, trends, and vulnerabilities.
Research and analyze FIFA26 participating teams, fanbases, and football culture.
Monitor open-source intelligence (OSINT), social media, and other platforms to track emerging risks.
Develop and disseminate region, team, and match-specific intelligence reports, risk assessments, and briefings to the Senior Manager and other stakeholders.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Serve as a liaison between FIFA’s Safety and Security team, host city security teams, and local, state, and federal law enforcement partners within your region.
Collaborate with local and federal law enforcement and security agencies to gather intelligence.
Facilitate intelligence-sharing sessions and support the integration of regional data into the broader FIFA intelligence framework.
Support the implementation of FIFA’s intelligence-sharing communication platforms.
Brief public and private sector partners on FIFA26 intelligence operations and posture.
Operational Support
Provide real-time intelligence support during regional critical incidents, matches, and other FIFA events.
Participate in tabletop exercises and simulations to prepare for potential security scenarios.
Track and report threats or incidents in your region during the tournament period.
Brief senior leadership on emerging security threats and intelligence findings.
Risk Assessment and Threat Analysis
Contribute to the development of novel risk assessment frameworks.
Conduct in-depth risk assessments for venues, teams, and events, identifying vulnerabilities and proposing mitigation strategies.
Prepare daily intelligence briefs and threat updates for operational teams during the tournament.
Analyze historical and emerging data to anticipate potential disruptions.
Compliance and Documentation
Ensure intelligence activities comply with local, state, national, and FIFA’s data protection and ethical standards.
Maintain detailed records of intelligence processes, findings, and communication.
Contribute to the development of legacy tools and processes for future FIFA events.
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as best practices are identified.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:
Bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Studies, International Affairs, Criminal Justice, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum five years of experience in intelligence analysis, risk assessment, public safety, or law enforcement.
Strong existing relationships, or ability to quickly develop relationships with local and federal security forces in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey.
Experience supporting large-scale events or high-profile security operations is a plus.
Proven ability to collaborate with multi-agency task forces and diverse stakeholders.
Ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights using minimal tools.
Experience constructing and delivering concise, effective briefs to senior leadership.
Strong analytic writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for building trust and effective collaboration.
Previous experience with or knowledge of the security environment in Canada.
Ability to work under pressure and make informed decisions in dynamic environments.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools.
Experience with open-source intelligence-collection and investigation tools.
Familiarity with open-source mapping tools, such as QGIS.
Familiarity with security focused data analysis or visualization.
