Position Overview
Hartford Athletic is seeking a W-League Coordinator to support Head Coach Danny Barrera and drive the overall success of the club's W-League program. This critical role encompasses player and staff recruitment, operational systems development, business planning, and competitive intelligence. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong organizational skills and a passion for growing women's professional soccer.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Identification:
  • Lead player recruitment efforts in coordination with Head Coach Danny Barrera
  • Identify and evaluate prospective players through scouting networks, video analysis, and live observation
  • Coordinate tryouts and player identification events
  • Manage communication with player agents, college coaches, and recruitment pipelines
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding coaching staff and technical personnel
  • Maintain comprehensive player database and recruitment tracking systems
  • Build relationships with colleges, clubs, and organizations to develop talent pipelines
Competition Analysis & Performance:
  • Conduct opponent scouting and competitive analysis for upcoming matches
  • Prepare detailed scouting reports and tactical breakdowns for coaching staff
  • Track league standings, statistics, and competitive analysis
  • Analyze team performance metrics and provide data-driven insights
  • Monitor league-wide trends and best practices
Operations & Organization:
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and systems for the W-League program
  • Coordinate team logistics including travel, accommodations, and transportation
  • Manage match day operations and game administration
  • Oversee team scheduling for training sessions, matches, and team events
  • Coordinate equipment needs and inventory management
  • Serve as liaison between W-League operations and club administration
  • Ensure compliance with league regulations and reporting requirements
Business Development & Growth:
  • Support business planning initiatives to grow the W-League program
  • Assist in developing sponsorship proposals and partnership opportunities
  • Coordinate community outreach and fan engagement activities
  • Support marketing efforts and social media content related to the W-League
  • Help identify revenue generation opportunities
  • Build relationships with community stakeholders and local soccer organizations
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning for program sustainability and growth
Administrative Support:
  • Manage player contracts, registrations, and roster administration
  • Coordinate with league office on official matters
  • Maintain team budgets and expense tracking
  • Prepare reports and presentations for leadership
  • Handle player and staff communications
  • Organize team meetings, events, and activities
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2-3 years of experience in sports operations, recruitment, or related field
  • Strong understanding of women's soccer landscape and competitive environment
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and database management
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret performance data
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and travel for matches
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of USL W-League structure and operations
  • Playing or coaching experience at high school or collegiate level
  • Existing network within women's soccer community
  • Experience with business development or sponsorship sales
  • Background in competitive analysis or performance analytics
