2025 Internship, Summer - Academy Strength & Conditioning

The New York Red Bulls are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium (SIS) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.

Purpose of this Internship

New York Red Bulls Academy are looking for an intern to join our high-performance team for the season. This position will help facilitate the development of athletes across the Red Bulls pathway with a primary focus on supporting our academy teams at Under 13-16

Note: applicants must have consistent afternoon and/or evening availability on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Weekend availability is a plus.

This is an unpaid, for credit internship (proof that you will receive credit is required).

Job Description

• Assist the Academy Performance staff with development and delivery of pitch and gym based physical development sessions, in line with the club physical framework
• Assisting with athlete assessment, monitoring and profiling processes across training cycles.
• Working closely with the interdisciplinary team to plan and deliver Warm Up activities in line with the Academy curriculum
• Educating athletes on performance lifestyle and standards, relative to their stage in the pathway
• Developing data-reporting skills, you’ll assist in the development of training and testing feedback reports
• Contributing to departmental discussion and professional development

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge and understanding of soccer
• Current undergraduate student studying sports exercise and science, strength and conditioning, CSCS accreditation, or a related field
• Demonstrates effective communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Lives within 60-miles of Whippany, New Jersey
• Possess a driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Because of the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, your assigned hours may vary to reflect our needs (includes nights and weekends).
