Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant High School Boys Soccer Coach at Onalaska High School. This seasonal position requires a strong passion for soccer, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other staff. The ideal candidate will contribute to creating a positive and competitive environment that fosters teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among student-athletes.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practice sessions and game strategies.
- Support the development of individual player skills and team tactics through effective coaching techniques.
- Help organize and supervise team activities, including practices, games, and team meetings.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to enhance skill development.
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes respect, discipline, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team updates, schedules, and player progress.
- Assist in the coordination of team travel arrangements and logistics for away games.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and league policies and regulations.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to further develop coaching skills and knowledge of the game.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience or playing experience at the high school level or higher.
- Strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential.
- First Aid/CPR certification is preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
- Availability to commit to the entire season, including practices, games, and team events.
- Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
