Position Summary: The Assistant Coach will be under the direct supervision of the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. Responsibilities include assisting the Head Coach in the following areas:
•Discipleship Plan for Men’s Soccer Program
•Academic Monitoring and Support of Men’s Soccer Team
•Team Community Service Projects
•Recruitment of Student-athletes while staying within financial budget
•Ensures that the Men’s Soccer Program is conducted within the vision and mission of the institution
•Scheduling of Competitive events
•Meets with the Head Coach on a regular basis to be informed of issues and policies that will affect the Men’s Soccer Program
•Maintains the personal conduct, appearance and discipline of team members and coaches that is appropriate for intercollegiate athletics teams and appropriate to reflect positively on the purpose of the department and the Christian mission of the college.
•Maintains financial and scholarship records of current budgetary status as determined by the Athletic Director.
•Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Men’s Soccer Coach. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledgeable in all aspects of the game of soccer, computer proficient, Able to meet/exceed recruiting goals, goalkeeper experience preferred, but not required. Able to maintain and work within a budget, Able to recruit and develop players, Able to coordinate and schedule proficient training sessions.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements of the Job: Must be able to physically run a practice session, must be able to lift as needed to meet the requirements of the job, must be able to be able to drive to meet the requirements of recruiting.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred, but not Required. Experience coaching or playing at the collegiate level preferred.
