Nicholls State University is seeking a highly motivated and committed individual to join our program as a full-time Women’s Soccer Assistant Coach. This position plays a key role in the daily operations and long-term success of a competitive NCAA Division I program.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Assisting with the planning and execution of all training sessions and competitive matches

On-field coaching, player development, and positional training

Identifying, evaluating, and recruiting prospective student-athletes in alignment with program and university standards

Supporting academic success and personal development of student-athletes

Managing administrative duties including travel coordination, video analysis, scouting reports, and compliance-related tasks

Contributing to a positive team culture and representing the program with professionalism

Qualifications:

Previous coaching and/or playing experience at the collegiate, club, or professional level

Strong knowledge of the game and player development strategies

Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required

Commitment to NCAA rules compliance and the holistic development of student-athletes

This is a full-time, year-round position requiring a high level of dedication, energy, and passion for the game.

Job Duties

Responsibility / DutyProvides assistance to the Women’s Soccer Head Coach with activities associated with the program and student-athletes including, but not limited to, recruitment, on-the-field coaching, video work, and community involvement. -Provides leadership for all aspects of women’s soccer to ensure a highly competitive and successful program. -Observes student-athletes during practice and competition to identify opportunities for individual or team improvement. Teaches players specific tasks and skills before, during, and after practice. -May help schedule contests and review film to self-scout and scout other teams. -Assists with recruitment of new student-athletes including, but not limited to, attending off-campus games for the purpose of contact and evaluation, managing recruitment correspondence, maintaining contact and planning campus visits with prospective student athletes. -Assists in coordination of all enrollment activities of women’s soccer student athletes. -Participates in athletic development and fundraising activities for athletics programs. Supports leadership development, team development, and community service.

Percentage Of Time75Responsibility / DutySupports and monitors academic performance and social development of the student athletes. Maintains discipline and development programs. Demonstrates concern for the health, safety and welfare of each student athlete. Enforces team discipline and policies by providing guidance and counsel. -At all times, complies with all University, Southland Conference, as well as all NCAA rules and regulations. Remains current with all changes in NCAA, as well as changes to University and Southland Conference rules and regulations regarding intercollegiate athletics. This includes the requirement for self-reporting any possible rule violations and participation in the annual NCAA continuing education programs including passing the NCAA certification test. Further, you are advised that any violation of NCAA rules is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
