Position Summary:
The position is based in Marietta, GA at the Children’s Health of Atlanta Training Center. The role includes assisting with medical care for all the Atlanta United FC and Atlanta United 2 players.
The athletic trainer’s main function will be assisting with the daily athletic training duties and responsibilities and being under the direction of the staff athletic trainers. Will also assist with the medical coverage of the second team training sessions and games. In addition, this position will be expected to have occasional travel with the second team. Assisting with Academy duties, as needed.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Daily duties include:
- Change into Atlanta United F.C training gear upon arrival
- Check in with head or assistant athletic trainers
- Updates on the day’s schedule
- Obtain assignments for the day
- Assist with preparation of training or match
- Stock refrigerator with water, isotonic drinks, and supplements
- Prepare squeeze bottles with water and isotonic drinks
- Prepare coolers with water
- Prepare injury ice
- Place supplies needed onto the cart to be taken out to the pitch
- AED/First aid bag/EMT bag
- Splint bag
- Equipment needed for on-the-field rehabilitation
- Assist with daily treatments and rehabilitation in the training room of injured players as assigned by head or assistant athletic trainer
- Assist with daily treatment and pre-training preparation, taping and strapping as assigned by head or assistant athletic trainer
- Assist with gym and correction/prevention strategies as assigned
- Monitor time, form, and equipment needed if assigned to do so
- Assist head and assistant athletic trainers during the training session or match
- Hydration
- Emergency care
- Assist with post-training treatments as assigned by head or assistant athletic trainer
- Clean up of training room
- Coolers and squeeze bottles
- Clean up tables and surfaces in the training room

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training; Master’s degree in health-related field preferred
- Current NATA certification
- Previous soccer experience recommended, but not required
Required Skills & Expectations:
- Licensing and Continued education
- Maintain a valid and non-expired athletic training license in the state of GA
- Satisfy all continuing education needs in order to maintain state licensure and national certification
- All interactions with the athletes should be strictly professional
- No phones out in the athletic training room or on the field (no social media!)
- Be on time
