Job Summary
Webster County High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic department as a full-time Boys Soccer Coach. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a competitive soccer program that promotes teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The coach will work closely with student-athletes to enhance their skills, foster a love for the game, and help them achieve their personal and team goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the boys soccer program, including practice schedules, game strategies, and player development.
- Conduct daily practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game preparation.
- Organize and supervise all aspects of the soccer program, including games, tournaments, and team events.
- Promote a positive team culture that emphasizes respect, integrity, and sportsmanship.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and player progress.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall athletic program at Webster County High School.
- Ensure compliance with all school and district policies, as well as state and national athletic regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of team statistics, player attendance, and other relevant information.
- Attend coaching clinics and workshops to stay updated on best practices and trends in soccer coaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules of the game.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with players, parents, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Must pass a background check and adhere to all school and district policies.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and during the soccer season, including travel for games and tournaments.
