EDR: Boys Soccer Assistant Coach, MS
New Hope-Solebury School DistrictThe New Hope-Solebury School District is looking for a Middle School Boys Soccer Assistant Coach responsible for assisting the Head Coach in the administration, organization, and development of the New Hope-Solebury Middle School Soccer program. This position supports the District’s mission by promoting academic achievement, athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and the personal growth of student-athletes during their foundational middle school years.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead the planning, organization, and coaching of the 7th grade team while assisting the 8th grade coach with overall program administration.

Coach and supervise student-athletes in fundamental soccer skills, including stick handling, passing, receiving, defensive positioning, and goalkeeping.

Conduct structured practices for the 7th grade squad that emphasize skill development, conditioning, and safe participation.

Instruct student-athletes in game fundamentals and tactical strategies appropriate for the 7th grade competitive level.

Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support individual growth and team development.

Promote and model appropriate conduct, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the school community.

Support the academic success and overall well-being of student-athletes in alignment with District expectations.

Collaborate closely with the 8th grade coach to ensure vertical alignment in drills, terminology, and team philosophy.

Oversee 7th grade match preparation and assist with 8th grade game management, including equipment setup and athlete supervision.

Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of soccer equipment and training facilities.

Communicate effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic department staff.

Ensure compliance with District policies, PIAA regulations, and middle school league rules.

Uphold and enforce District codes of conduct, team rules, and expectations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
Qualifications

Prior coaching and/or competitive experience in Soccer is preferred, specifically at the middle school or youth level.

Strong knowledge of field hockey rules, modern techniques, training principles, and safety practices.

Ability to work effectively with middle-school-aged student-athletes in a developmental, educational environment.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with the Athletic Director, fellow coaches, and school staff.

Completion of all required District, PIAA, and state-mandated clearances and coaching certifications.
