The New Hope-Solebury School District is looking for a High School Girls Soccer Varsity Assistant Coach who will also serve as the Junior Varsity (JV) Head Coach. This dual role is responsible for the leadership and development of the JV team while providing vital support to the Varsity program to ensure a cohesive and competitive high school environment. This position supports the District’s mission by promoting academic achievement, athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and the personal growth of student-athletes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the primary leader for the JV program while assisting the Varsity Head Coach with overall program administration and strategy.

Coach and supervise student-athletes in fundamental and advanced soccer skills, including technical ball control, tactical positioning, and goalkeeping.

Plan and conduct structured practices for the JV squad that emphasize skill progression, conditioning, and safe participation.

Instruct student-athletes in game fundamentals and tactical systems to ensure vertical alignment between the JV and Varsity levels.

Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to support individual development and readiness for varsity-level play.

Promote and model appropriate conduct, sportsmanship, and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the school community.

Support the academic success and overall well-being of student-athletes in alignment with District expectations.

Collaborate closely with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure consistency in drills, terminology, and team philosophy across the entire program.

Oversee JV match preparation and assist with Varsity game management, including scouting, equipment setup, and athlete supervision.

Ensure proper use, storage, and maintenance of soccer equipment and training facilities.

Communicate effectively and professionally with student-athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic department staff.

Ensure compliance with District policies, PIAA regulations, and league rules.

Uphold and enforce District codes of conduct, team rules, and expectations.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Varsity Head Coach or Athletic Director.
Qualifications

Prior coaching and/or competitive experience in soccer is preferred, specifically at the high school or collegiate level.

Strong knowledge of soccer rules, modern tactical systems, training principles, and safety practices.

Ability to work effectively with high-school-aged student-athletes in a competitive and educational environment.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with the coaching staff, administrators, and school staff.

Completion of all required District, PIAA, and state-mandated clearances and coaching certifications.
