Position Overview
Idaho Rush Soccer Club is seeking a visionary, mission-driven Executive Director to lead and manage the club’s operations, strategy, and community impact across the Boise/Treasure Valley area and beyond. As a member of the national Rush Soccer organization, Idaho Rush is committed to excellence in player development, leadership, and access to the game for all.

The Executive Director will serve as the primary leader of the club’s business operations, collaborating closely with the Program and Department Directors and coaching staff to ensure the success of Idaho Rush’s competitive, recreational, and community-based programs. This role is ideal for a dynamic, relationship-oriented professional who thrives in a nonprofit, youth-focused environment and is passionate about growing the game in Idaho.

Responsibilities

Strategic & Organizational Leadership
  • Implement the vision and strategic priorities of Idaho Rush, in alignment with the Board and National Rush Soccer
  • Lead long-term planning initiatives, including club growth and capital projects
  • Act as the primary ambassador for the organization in Idaho and beyond
Operations & Staff Management
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including club administration, scheduling, registration, and facilities use
  • Manage a team of full-time and part-time staff, including administrative staff, program leads, and volunteers
  • Oversees Program and Department Directors to support programming, coach development, and competitive excellence
Financial Oversight & Fundraising
  • Manage operating budget in collaboration with the Board Treasurer and accounting staff
  • Ensure sound financial practices, timely reporting, and regulatory compliance as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
  • Lead fundraising efforts including grants, sponsorships, scholarships, and donor engagement
Community Engagement & Communications
  • Foster strong relationships with parents, players, local clubs, schools, and partner organizations
  • Represent Idaho Rush at community events, state soccer meetings, and National Rush Soccer initiatives
  • Oversee club communications strategy, ensuring consistent branding, outreach, and responsiveness
Governance & Compliance
  • Serve as the liaison to the Board of Directors and provide timely updates on club health, operations, and risk
  • Ensure compliance with Idaho Youth Soccer Association, US Youth Soccer, and National Rush Soccer policies
  • Maintain up-to-date policies on safety, equity, and code of conduct
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and management experience in a youth sports organization, with a strong preference for candidates who have successfully led or directed a club environment.
  • Operational experience in soccer programming is highly preferred, ideally managing business functions for a soccer organization such as a nonprofit, collegiate program, or club. The focus should be on organizational and business operations, not solely coaching or Director of Coaching roles.
  • Preference for candidates with 5 + years of business or nonprofit leadership experience, including:
    • Oversight of fiscal year budgeting and multi-year financial planning
    • Proven ability to build and lead cohesive teams while maintaining strong financial stewardship
  • Strong relationship-builder with a proven ability to engage effectively with families, staff, board members, sponsors, and local community leaders.
  • Strategic thinker capable of turning long-term goals into actionable annual plans and measurable performance objectives for staff and teams.
  • Excellent communication and marketing skills, with a track record of leveraging in-person outreach, digital channels, and social media to elevate an organization’s visibility and reputation.
  •  Successful experience in hiring, managing, developing, and retaining staff and volunteers.
  • Collaborative and motivational leadership style that fosters a positive culture among employees and club members.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards; able to model and reinforce the organization’s core values across all levels of involvement.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, especially during events or peak programming seasons.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in business, nonprofit leadership, sports administration, or a related management field.
Additional Information
This position is based in Boise, ID with periodic travel required throughout Idaho and to national Rush events.
