Summary
Canyon Ridge High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our athletic department as a Girls Soccer Varsity Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. This seasonal position is ideal for someone who has a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals, a commitment to fostering a positive team environment, and the ability to mentor young athletes. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to develop players’ skills, promote teamwork, and enhance the overall soccer program at our school.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practices, drills, and conditioning sessions.
- Support game day preparations, including strategy discussions, player warm-ups, and equipment management.
- Provide individual and group instruction to players to develop their technical skills and game understanding.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture, encouraging sportsmanship and teamwork among players.
- Monitor and evaluate player performance, providing constructive feedback to help athletes improve.
- Collaborate with the head coach to develop game strategies and line-ups.
- Assist in organizing team events, including fundraisers, community service, and team-building activities.
- Maintain open communication with players, parents, and school administration regarding team progress and individual athlete concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all school and district policies, as well as any applicable state and national athletic regulations.
- Attend all required meetings, practices, and games throughout the season.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably in soccer at the high school level or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of soccer rules, strategies, and training techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, players, and parents.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained prior to the start of the season.
- A commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the season.
- A background check will be required prior to hiring.

This is an “at will” position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The employment “at will” policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and approved by the Board of Trustees of District 411.
 
All recommendations are tentative offers. Employment is contingent upon board approval and successful completion of federal background check and drug-free workplace pre-employment screening.
