DEPARTMENT: Field Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Head of Grounds

TYPE: Part-Time Seasonal

FLSA: Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE: Hours will flex 20- 29 hours per week

DURATION: June – November 2025

               

SUMMARY

The Groundskeeper (Part-Time) will participate in field maintenance which includes playing surfaces/fields at the Providence Swedish Performance Center & Clubhouse in Renton. This role will assist with maintenance of fields and grounds, and following grounds maintenance tools, techniques, and practices.

Hours will vary based on team needs; candidates must be available to maintain a consistent schedule during the final two weeks of June.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in maintenance and daily responsibilities for fields and grounds including mowing, irrigation, fertilizing, field painting, cultural turfgrass practices, equipment operation and maintenance and snow removal per strategic plans and defined maintenance standards.
  • Assists in preventive equipment maintenance and replacement programs.
  • Assists with monitoring inventory levels of products necessary for ground maintenance.
  • Ensures the safe operation of light duty vehicles such as mowers, tractors, and carts.
  • Performs seasonal maintenance of the equipment fleet and ensures proper maintenance is performed in a timely manner.
  • Assists in maintaining and ensuring necessary training equipment (goals, benches, etc.) is set up, and in good working condition.
  • Fosters professional relationships with coaching staff, first team support staff, players, co-workers, and tenants.
  • Accomplishes the work in compliance with OSHA and Worker Right-to Know standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience or interest in ground maintenance related work.                           
  • Ability to proficiently operate turf related equipment (i.e., tractors, mowers, aerifiers, field paint machine).
  • Candidate must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize and juggle tasks.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel & Outlook)

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • This position will work in-person from the headquarters and training facility in Renton, WA.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, as needed.
  • Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • This role involves regular outdoor work and may require standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and performing physical labor in a variety of weather conditions.
