    Steamboat Springs High School is seeking a Head Boys Soccer Coach- Season Dates: 08/10/26 - 11/20/26
    Pay Range: $5,208 to $7,086 per season


    Job Summary: 

    • Attend a required parent/student/coach meeting at the beginning of each season.  At that meeting, have written guidelines/handbook available for the parents and students that outlines your practice, attendance, lettering criteria, participation policies and behavior expectations for your players/participants. This should include a document signed by parents and participants agreeing to the information presented.
    • Communicate effectively and regularly with the athletic/activity director, student participants/team members, their parents and program coaches/sponsors so that expectations and procedure are clear.
    • Provide and continually update your team/group roster to the high school athletic/activity secretary and keep the director fully informed of possible conflict issues in your program.
    • Never allow an athlete/participant to practice or play/participate until cleared by the SSHS Athletic Department.
    • Follow and uphold all Steamboat Springs High School eligibility policies and procedures, maintain current CHSAA coaching registration, current first aide certification and successfully pass the CHSAA coaching test and NFHS concussion course each school year.
    • Always conduct themselves in an ethical and professional manner and promote to the team/group members a healthy lifestyle with respect to use/abuse of drugs, alcohol, tobacco and steroids.
    • Operate with the understanding and requirement that they are the supervising adult for all athletic or other activity participation at the school and also from the time the team/group leaves the school until all students have been picked up by their parents upon return of the team/group.
    • Take ownership for the care and security of your program equipment.  Follow the uniform/equipment check out procedures and account for all student use and collect, inventory and properly store all uniforms/equipment within two weeks of the end of the season.
    • Hold an end of season awards ceremony to recognize the hard work of the students such as lettering, league and state awards and special accomplishments.  Also, use the occasion as a way of thanking your other coaches/sponsors and parents for their assistance during the season/activity period.
    • Represent and advocate for our high school and your sport/activity by attending appropriate league, region and state meetings, as well as clinics, SSHS leadership seminars and professional development opportunities.


    Qualifications:

    • Excellent ability to work with students ages 14-18..
    • Strong soccer skills, knowledge and previous coaching experience preferred.
    • Able to work various schedules for practices and games.
