Summary
The Head Coach for the High School Girls Soccer team at Winlock High School is responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing student-athletes in a competitive environment. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Plan and conduct daily practice sessions, ensuring that all athletes are engaged and improving their skills.
- Organize and manage all aspects of the girls soccer program, including scheduling games, coordinating transportation, and overseeing team logistics.
- Evaluate and select team members through tryouts and ongoing assessments throughout the season.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages participation and personal growth among all athletes.
- Communicate regularly with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding team goals, expectations, and progress.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic policies and regulations.
- Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, emphasizing the importance of balancing academics and athletics.
- Collaborate with assistant coaches and other staff to create a cohesive coaching strategy and promote a unified team approach.
- Promote the girls soccer program within the school and community, including organizing events and fundraising activities.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for practice and competition.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level or higher, with a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and strategies.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing high school soccer, including safety protocols.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and the community to support the program.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
