Belle Chasse High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Girls Soccer Coach to lead and continue developing a competitive and positive girls soccer program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, effective communication skills, and a commitment to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.
The Head Girls Soccer Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the BCHS Girls Soccer Program, including player development, scheduling, supervision of student-athletes and assistant coaches, management of team financials and fundraising efforts, and coordination of all team activities. The coach must comply with all Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) rules and regulations, as well as policies established by the Plaquemines Parish School Board and the athletic administration at BCHS.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Promote and develop a positive, student-centered culture within the BCHS Girls Soccer Program.
• Organize and supervise practices, contests, offseason workouts, and team activities that emphasize skill development, teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and player growth.
• Develop practice plans and game strategies that maximize team success and student-athlete development.
• Manage the girls’ soccer team fund in an organized and responsible manner while coordinating fundraising activities to support the program’s needs and goals.
• Evaluate player performance and assign team roles and positions appropriately.
• Collaborate with the Boys Soccer Head Coach and AD regarding scheduling and logistics.
• Monitor student-athletes’ academic progress, attendance, conduct, and eligibility requirements.
• Collect and maintain all required LHSAA eligibility documents.
• Maintain and secure all soccer equipment, uniforms, and facilities associated with the program.
• Oversee the cleaning, repair, inventory, and storage of athletic equipment and uniforms.
• Conduct a preseason parent/player meeting with administration present.
• Encourage and model positive sportsmanship, professionalism, integrity, and respect at all times.
• Foster positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, officials, and community members.
• Follow established procedures in the event of athlete injuries and emergencies.
• Represent BCHS, the athletic department, and the school community in a professional and positive manner.
• Maintain nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Perform administrative duties and other responsibilities assigned by the Athletic Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience coaching high school soccer. Head coach experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategies, rules, and player development.
• Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and work collaboratively with assistant coaches and program volunteers.
• Must meet all PPSB and LHSAA coaching eligibility requirements.
