Company Description
The New York Red Bulls are one of 30 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium (SIS) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.

Purpose of this Role

The Head of Event Booking drives 3rd party promoter and private event rentals to the Stadium through proactive sales efforts, relationship-building, and targeted outreach and is responsible for managing and overseeing all event bookings at Sports Illustrated Stadium and the Club’s Training Facility, ensuring smooth operations for both internal (New York Red Bulls) and external 3rd Party Events driving event revenue for both Tickets and non-Ticketed Events, be the primary point of contact for 3rd Party Promoters, curating diverse entertainment opportunities, and overseeing the full lifecycle of Special Events at Sports Illustrated Stadium. This individual will serve as a strategic liaison between Promoters, potential Corporate and Private Clients, Internal Departments and in-house Partners, ensuring flawless execution and elevated guest experiences across all events—from intimate private functions to large-scale concerts and sporting events.
This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent customer service abilities, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of event logistics, contract negotiations, and relationship management with clients, vendors, and staff.

Job Description
Business Development & Revenue Generation
  • Drive private event rentals through proactive sales efforts, relationship-building, and targeted outreach.
  • Cultivate relationships with third-party promoters and event producers to attract concerts, sporting events, and other live entertainment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the in-house partner promoter to coordinate schedules, ensure date availability, and support mutually beneficial programming.

Event Booking & Coordination
  • Oversee and manage the booking of non-RBNY events at the stadium, including sporting events, concerts, corporate events, and private events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Promoters, as well as Corporate and Private Clients seeking to book the stadium, answering inquiries and providing information on available dates, event requirements, and pricing.
  • Work closely with event Promoters to understand their specific needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with Promoters, Clients and Vendors, ensuring clear agreements on all aspects of the event, from logistics to fees.

Client Relations & Event Execution
  • Act as the main liaison between event clients and the stadium’s Food & Beverage department, ensuring seamless communication and planning.
  • Oversee the creation of room layouts and event diagrams for private events to ensure client customization and optimal use of space.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery from booking to post-event follow-up for all events hosted at the stadium.

Event Calendar & Operational Oversight
  • Maintain the master event calendar, ensuring optimal scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Partner with internal teams including Operations, Marketing, Security, and Ticketing to ensure that all large-scale events are properly scoped, planned, and executed.
  • Lead internal event planning meetings and post-event recaps to continuously improve processes and outcomes.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Manage and mentor a team responsible for booking and executing smaller-scale events.
  • Monitor team performance, provide ongoing coaching, and develop professional growth plans to cultivate top performers.
  • Set and track team goals aligned with overall department revenue targets.

Analytics & Reporting
  • Track and analyze event revenue, pipeline opportunities, and profitability.
  • Develop regular reports and forecasts to ensure department is on pace to meet or exceed annual goals.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth and increased utilization of stadium spaces.

Marketing & Promotions Support
  • Collaborate with the Marketing department to promote upcoming events and attract new clients.
  • Help create promotional materials, press releases, and other communications to increase the Venue’s visibility as an event destination in the NYC metropolitan area.

Post-Event Analysis & Reporting
  • Review event feedback and provide reports on event performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist with invoicing and tracking revenue generated from events.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Seven (7) plus years of experience in event bookings and sales, sports and other live entertainment and venue management—preferably in a stadium, arena, or large event facility.
  • Experience working with both Corporate Private Clients and large entertainment 3rd party Promoters.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as event schedules demand.
  • Demonstrated success in event booking, client relationship management, and revenue generation.
  • Strong understanding of event operations, including food & beverage coordination, A/V needs, and space planning.
  • Proficiency in event diagramming software (e.g., Social Tables, AutoCAD) and CRM systems is a plus.
  • Strong industry network and familiarity with national and regional touring acts, sports organizations, and event producers.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles is desirable.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial models and projections.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and external communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships at all levels.
