Payette School District is accepting applications for the following coaching position for the 2026-27 school year:

Head Girls Coach – Payette High School

The Payette High School administration and Athletic Director will select the Head Payette Girls Soccer Coach.

Position Purpose

The Head Girls Soccer Coach supports the development of high school student-athletes by fostering skill development, positive attitudes, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Emphasis is placed on age-appropriate instruction, participation, and the development of lifelong habits of physical activity, responsibility, and respect.

  • Support the physical, social, and emotional development of high school student-athletes
  • Teach fundamental soccer skills appropriate for varying ability levels
  • Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for self and others
  • Provide positive role modeling and encouragement
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive athletic environment

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Head High School Coach

The Head Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, supervision, and compliance of the assigned high school athletic program.

Program Leadership

  • Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the program, including practices, competitions, and season planning
  • Establish and communicate clear expectations for student-athletes and assistant coaches
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, character development, and academic responsibility
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture aligned with district values

Student Supervision & Development

  • Attend and supervise all practices, contests, team meetings, and school-related athletic events
  • Provide sport-specific instruction and skill development
  • Monitor academic eligibility and attendance requirements
  • Ensure appropriate supervision during travel and competitions
  • Promote the physical, social, and emotional development of student-athletes

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure full compliance with Idaho High School Activities Association (IHSAA) rules and regulations
  • Enforce eligibility standards consistent with IHSAA and district policy
  • Implement concussion protocols and student-athlete safety procedures in accordance with Idaho Code and district guidelines
  • Maintain accurate rosters, documentation, and required eligibility records
  • Ensure proper care, inventory, and storage of equipment

Staff & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Recommend and supervise assistant coaches
  • Coordinate scheduling, transportation, and logistics with the Athletic Director
  • Support fundraising efforts in compliance with district bookkeeping and purchasing procedures
  • Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner
  • Attend required district and IHSAA meetings and professional development

  • Represent Payette High School and the district in a professional manner
  • Maintain effective communication with students, families, staff, and administration
  • Model integrity, leadership, and appropriate conduct
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or Principal

Terms of Employment

Employment is approved by the Board of Trustees and in accordance with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.

Evaluation

Performance of this position will be evaluated periodically by the building principal in conformance with district policy and IDAPA 08.02.02.120.
