Women’s Tennis Head Coach

Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, invites applications for a full-time, exempt Head Women’s Tennis Coach. This is a full-time, 12-month position. The position reports to the Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Major Responsibilities

Coaching & Instruction

•Assist with planning, organizing, and conducting practices and team workouts.

•Instruct student-athletes on sport fundamentals, skills development, tactics, strategy, and safety.

•Support preparation of the team for competitions, including game-day activities and player evaluations.

Recruitment & Retention

•Participate in identifying, recruiting, and retaining qualified student-athletes for the cheer and stunt program.

•Assist with campus visits, communication with prospects, and coordination with admissions and compliance offices.

Student-Athlete Support

•Encourage and monitor the academic progress and personal development of student-athletes.

•Serve as a positive role model and mentor, fostering teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Program Administration

•Assist with organizational tasks such as travel logistics, equipment management, and fundraising activities as needed.

•Help ensure compliance with NCAA, G-MAC, and Kentucky Wesleyan College policies.

Secondary Duties

•Assigned in the area of game day management and supervision.

Qualifications

Required

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

•Previous coaching experience (high school or college level preferred).

•Strong knowledge of Women’s Tennis skills, strategies, and NCAA intercollegiate rules.

•Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

•Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, student-athletes, and administrators.

Preferred

•College-level coaching experience.

•Experience with recruiting and player development.

•Familiarity with Division II athletics compliance.

•Valid driver’s license and insurability under college insurance.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including the following:

•Free tuition at KWC after 90 days plus tuition arrangements with hundreds of other colleges and universities

This is a exempt position and will be paid on a biweekly/monthly basis.

As Kentucky Wesleyan is a not-for-profit institution, employees may be eligible for loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program of the US Department of Education.
