High School Junior Varsity Coach - Boys Soccer

 

North Marion School District is seeking a positive and student-centered Junior Varsity Coach for Boys Soccer to support our high school athletic program. Junior Varsity Coaches play an important role in helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field through skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and character.

 

Successful candidates will build positive relationships with students, families, staff, and the community while creating a safe, inclusive, and competitive athletic environment aligned with District and OSAA expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Under leadership of the Varsity Head Coach, assist with the management and oversight of the high school soccer program
  • Teach sport-specific skills, strategies, teamwork, and sportsmanship
  • Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful team culture
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and administration
  • Support student-athlete growth, accountability, and academic success
  • Comply with all North Marion School District and OSAA rules, policies, and expectations
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Required Qualifications: 

  • NFHS/ASEP certification required
  • Completion of all required OSAA and District trainings prior to season start
  • Successful background and criminal history clearance prior to interaction with students
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and community members
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish skills preferred

Applicants recommended for conditional employment are required to be cleared through fingerprinting and background check processes.  Upon clearance, acceptance of the position authorizes the district to withhold the current cost of fingerprints ($75 as of May 2026).
