Position Title: Junior High (JH) Fall Coaches (Sports offered - Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, Football, Volleyball, Boys Tennis, Girls Golf, Co-Ed Cross Country, & Cheerleading)
Location: Southmont Junior High School
School Corporation: South Montgomery Community School Corporation
Season: Fall Sports Seasons: August 2026 - October 2026

Position Overview

Southmont Athletics is seeking motivated & student-centered Fall Coaches to lead and develop student-athletes in a positive and competitive environment. If you are interested in coaching at any level at our Junior High (Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Volunteer Coach) please apply now!

 Responsibilities - varies based on coaching level 

• Plan and conduct daily practices
• Teach sport-specific fundamentals and strategies
• Promote teamwork, discipline, and good sportsmanship
• Supervise student-athletes during practices and competitions
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school staff
• Ensure compliance with school and athletic department policies
• Maintain equipment and facilities

Qualifications

• Previous coaching and/or playing experience preferred
• Knowledge of junior high athletic development
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Must meet school corporation employment requirements (including a background check)

• Ability to build relationships with middle school athletes
• Commitment to academic and athletic excellence
