Job Description:

North Middlesex Regional High School is seeking a JV Boys Soccer Coach to assist in leading and developing the junior varsity boys’ soccer program. The successful candidate will help the head coach in coaching practices, games, and player development. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about soccer and eager to make a positive impact on student-athletes by helping them develop their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

The JV Boys Soccer Coach will work closely with the Head Varsity Coach, assistant coaches, and the athletic staff to ensure the program fosters a competitive and supportive environment for student-athletes to grow both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:

Practice & Skill Development:

Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practices focused on soccer fundamentals, team strategies, and individual skills.

Provide individual instruction to athletes to help develop their technical and tactical understanding of the game.

Encourage a positive and growth-oriented environment where players feel challenged and supported.

Team Support & Supervision:

Assist in managing the team during practices, games, and other team-related activities.

Ensure proper supervision of athletes, promoting good sportsmanship and positive behavior both on and off the field.

Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive team culture where all players feel valued.

Game Day Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and coaching of the team during games, offering strategic input, motivating players, and managing player rotations.

Help the Head Coach in evaluating game performance and developing strategies for future matches.

Support players during games, ensuring they are properly equipped and mentally prepared.

Communication & Collaboration:

Maintain open and regular communication with athletes, parents, and school staff regarding team progress, schedules, and any other relevant information.

Work closely with the Head Coach and other staff to ensure effective team management and support for athletes.

Encourage parent involvement and keep them informed about their child's performance and team-related activities.

Compliance & Safety:

Follow all North Middlesex School District policies and MIAA regulations.

Ensure that safety protocols are followed, including injury prevention and concussion management.

Assist in maintaining team equipment and ensuring the safety of players during practices and games.

Maintain required certifications such as Concussion Training (NFHS or CDC-approved), First Aid & CPR, and CORI/SORI Background Check.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

Previous coaching experience or a strong understanding of soccer fundamentals and strategies.

Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school staff.

Passion for coaching and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for student-athletes.

Ability to collaborate effectively with the Head Coach, assistant coaches, and school administration.

Must meet all district and MIAA coaching requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous playing or coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.

Strong leadership and organizational skills.

Experience working with youth athletes, particularly at the middle or high school level.

Ability to motivate and support athletes in both their athletic and academic endeavors.

Salary:

Per NMRSD Coach Stipend Schedule.
