JV Girls Soccer Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the coaching staff at Grand Ledge High School as a JV Girls Soccer Assistant. This part-time position is ideal for someone with a passion for soccer and a desire to contribute to the development of young athletes. The assistant coach will work closely with the head coach to foster a positive and competitive environment for the junior varsity team, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices and games for the JV girls soccer team.
- Provide instruction and guidance to players on techniques, strategies, and game rules.
- Help create and implement training sessions that enhance player performance and team cohesion.
- Monitor player progress and provide feedback to help athletes improve their skills.
- Support the head coach in managing team logistics, including equipment, transportation, and communication with players and parents.
- Promote a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and inclusivity.
- Attend all scheduled practices, games, and team meetings.
- Assist in the evaluation of player performance and contribute to team decisions regarding player development and placement.
- Collaborate with other coaching staff to ensure a unified coaching approach.

Requirements
- Previous coaching experience or a strong background in soccer, preferably at the high school level or higher.
- Knowledge of soccer techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with players, parents, and staff.
- Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all players.
- Availability for afternoon and evening practices and games during the soccer season.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but not required.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
