Hours/Time/Calendar/Pay: 

Evening, weekend, and holiday hours during the athletic season, travel to away contests and tournaments, seasonal position, stipend and terms per collective bargaining agreement

 

Reports To:

Varsity Soccer Coach, Athletic Director and Building Principal

 

Position Summary:

The JV Boys Soccer Coach is responsible for organizing, leading, and supervising a competitive and educational soccer team that promotes student-athlete development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and academic success. The coach provides instruction in soccer skills and strategies while fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive environment consistent with school and district values.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching and/or playing experience in soccer
  • Knowledge of high school athletic rules and regulations
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school personnel
  • CPR, First Aid, and concussion awareness training
  • Background check clearance

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and conduct practices that develop individual skills, team concepts, and physical conditioning
  • Coach and supervise student-athletes during practices, games, tournaments, and related activities
  • Teach and model sportsmanship, ethical conduct, teamwork, and respect for opponents and officials
  • Promote academic achievement and monitor student-athlete eligibility and attendance
  • Develop game strategies and make in-game decisions appropriate to the level of competition
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, administrators, and athletic staff
  • Supervise locker rooms, travel, and off-campus activities
  • Participate in coaches’ meetings, rules clinics, and required professional development
  • Support and comply with district policies, athletic handbook provisions, and state athletic association regulations
