Position Summary
Traders Point Christian Schools (TPCS) is seeking a Christ-centered, relational, and transformational leader to serve as the Middle School/Junior High Boys Soccer Head Coach. The Head Coach is responsible for leading a developmental soccer program that equips student-athletes spiritually, academically, athletically, and personally while preparing them for future success within the TPCS soccer program.

While each sport has unique competitive responsibilities, every head coach is expected to embrace the same leadership framework and departmental standards.
The Middle School/Junior High Boys Soccer Head Coach serves as one of the most influential positions within our athletic department by laying the foundation for the future success of our soccer program. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for mentoring young men while developing fundamental soccer skills, Christ-centered character, leadership habits, teamwork, and a lifelong love for the game.

Primary Responsibilities
Program Leadership
- Lead the Middle School/Junior High Boys Soccer program in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of TPCS Athletics.
- Foster a Christ-centered culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, servant leadership, accountability, teamwork, discipline, and respect.
- Support the long-term development of the TPCS soccer program by preparing student-athletes for high school soccer.
- Collaborate with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure consistency in player development, program philosophy, and coaching expectations.
Student Athlete Development
- Prioritize the spiritual, academic, athletic, leadership, and personal growth of each student-athlete.
- Teach life lessons through the game of soccer while helping players build confidence, responsibility, perseverance, and resilience.
- Encourage a positive experience that fosters enjoyment of the game and continued participation in soccer.
- Model Christ-like character, humility, integrity, and professionalism.
Coaching & Player Development
- Teach age-appropriate soccer fundamentals, technical skills, tactical understanding, and game awareness.
- Plan organized, engaging, and developmentally appropriate practices that maximize learning and player growth.
- Ensure all student-athletes receive meaningful instruction and opportunities to improve.
- Promote player development over short-term competitive outcomes while still striving for excellence.
Staff Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and collaborate with assistant coaches.
- Foster a coaching environment centered on encouragement, teaching, and servant leadership.
- Maintain alignment with the philosophy and expectations of the Athletic Department and High School Soccer Program.
Culture & Program Development
- Build a positive, encouraging, and development-focused team culture.
- Promote accountability, teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.
- Encourage multi-sport participation and recognize the value of well-rounded athletic development.
- Help establish excitement and pride in the TPCS soccer program.
Communication
- Maintain professional, timely, and consistent communication with parents, student-athletes, school administration, and the Athletic Department.
- Utilize school-approved communication platforms.
- Clearly communicate team expectations, schedules, and program philosophy throughout the season.
Athletic Department Partnership
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director and Varsity Head Soccer Coach in supporting the long-term vision of TPCS Soccer.
- Participate in department meetings, coach development opportunities, and required school functions.
- Support department-wide initiatives and contribute positively to the overall culture of TPCS Athletics.
Operations & Administration
- Manage equipment, uniforms, and team resources responsibly.
- Assist with scheduling, transportation needs, and administrative responsibilities as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with IHSAA, school policies, and Athletic Department procedures where applicable.
- Demonstrate organization and responsible stewardship of program resources.
Community Engagement
- Represent Traders Point Christian Schools with integrity both on and off the field.
- Build positive relationships with families and the school community.
- Encourage participation in youth soccer opportunities that strengthen the long-term health of the soccer program.
Qualifications
Preferred candidates will possess:
- A demonstrated commitment to the Christian mission and values of Traders Point Christian Schools.
- Previous coaching or playing experience in soccer.
- A passion for teaching and mentoring middle school student-athletes.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work alongside the High School Soccer coaching staff.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Ability to complete all required background checks and coaching certifications.

Success Indicators
Success in this position extends beyond wins and losses. The Middle School/Junior High Boys Soccer Head Coach will be evaluated on the ability to develop student-athletes, strengthen the soccer program, and prepare players for future success at the high school level.
Success will be measured through:
