Women in Soccer is a network of over 14,500 members and growing! Our mission is to create gender equity in the soccer industry, and we’re seeking a Co-Executive Director, Head of Operations & Partnerships to help advance this goal. 

The Co-Executive Director, Head of Operations & Partnerships will co-lead a thriving, engaged community alongside the Co-Executive Director, Head of Content & Marketing. The role will require leading internal business operations, creating and maintaining industry partnerships, and collaborating on the business and financial strategy needed to ensure Women in Soccer's long-term success. 

Success in this role will require someone who can move seamlessly between big-picture strategy and day-to-day execution.

Key Job Responsibilities 

The Co-Executive Director, Head of Operations & Partnerships will work across three main areas:

Operations 

  • Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Maintain organizational records, contracts, policies, and governance documents.
  • Manage compliance requirements, including nonprofit governance, registrations, insurance, and reporting.
  • Oversee and track payroll, contracts, agreements, invoices/payments, and cash flow (co-managed with the accounting team).
  • Oversee financial reporting and collaborate with accounting and financial service providers (co-managed with the accounting team).
  • Develop internal processes, policies, and HR needs. 
  • Set and execute travel plans for the Women in Soccer team based on organizational goals. Past industry events include: World Football Summit Conferences, Women’s World Cup, and NWSL Championship Weekends. 

Partnerships 

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with leagues, clubs, brands, educational institutions, media organizations, and other industry stakeholders. 
  • Create new partnership opportunities that align with the mission and strategic priorities of Women in Soccer. 
  • Lead outreach to secure funding from partner organizations, foundations, grants, etc
  • Represent the organization at conferences, speaking engagements, networking events, and industry gatherings. 

Leadership & Strategy 

Alongside the Co-Executive Director, Head of Content & Marketing,  the Co-Executive Director, Head of Operations & Partnerships will: 

  • Develop and execute the organization's strategic vision and annual priorities, including annual fundraising strategies. 
  • Serve as a visible and authentic ambassador for the Women in Soccer brand.
  • Develop and support execution of annual programming calendars (e.g., events and professional development opportunities) for the WIS member community.
  • Contribute to the organization's communications strategy
  • Build out a Board of Advisors to establish goals and measure organizational performance.

Required Qualifications 

  • 5 or more years of leadership experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams, programs, organizations, or business operations. 
  • Strong operational, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Ability to navigate from big-picture thinking to final execution of tasks. 
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and adapt innovatively in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets. 
  • Strong fundraising, partnership development, or business development experience.
  • Grant-writing and donor stewardship experience. 
  • Experience with setting up a 501c3 and building a board of advisors.
  • A deep commitment to gender equity and inclusive leadership. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience leading within a nonprofit, membership organization, social enterprise, or mission-driven business. 
  • Experience working within the soccer industry, women's sports, or adjacent industries.
  • Experience managing sponsorships and corporate partnerships. 
  • Experience growing funding streams. 
  • Experience planning and executing events. 
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Slack, CRM platforms, and project management tools. 

Compensation, Policies and Values 

  • 32 hrs/week (Note: Women in Soccer has a 4-day workweek)
  • $90,000.00 annual salary paid out semi-monthly 
  • $8,000.00 annual healthcare stipend 
  • $1,000.00 annual professional development stipend 
  • Remote work: WIS is a remote-first organization. Employees can work remotely from anywhere within the US.
