The Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC is a professional men’s soccer team competing in the USL Championship, the second tier of American soccer. The organization also includes the Pittsburgh Riveters SC, a USL W League women’s team launched in 2025, and the nationally recognized Riverhounds Development Academy. All teams operate out of the AHN Montour Sports Complex and the picturesque Highmark Stadium, located in Station Square along Pittsburgh’s iconic skyline. Highmark Stadium is set to expand to 15,000 in the coming years as part of a $125m renovation and expansion project.  Job Summary

The On-Field Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment on the playing field, surrounding event areas, and restricted-access zones during events. This role serves as a visible security presence, protects players, coaches, officials, performers, staff, and guests, while enforcing venue policies and responding to incidents as needed.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

·         Maintain a security presence on the field and in designated restricted areas during events.

·         Monitor player benches, team entrances and exits, sidelines, and other access-controlled locations.

·         Prevent unauthorized access to the playing surface and restricted areas.

·         Assist with crowd management and maintain appropriate spectator behavior near field-level access points.

·         Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents and disturbances.

·         Communicate effectively with supervisors, event staff, law enforcement, EMS, and venue personnel.

·         Monitor suspicious activity and immediately report potential security threats.

·         Enforce venue policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

·         Assist with emergency response and evacuation procedures when needed.

·         Maintain a professional demeanor and provide exceptional customer service to guests.

 

 

·         High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

·         Previous security, law enforcement, customer service, or event operations experience preferred.

·         Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.

·         Must be dependable, professional, and capable of working in a team environment.

·         Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
 

 

·         Stand and walk for extended periods.

·         Work outdoors in various weather conditions.

·         Respond quickly to incidents across the venue.

·         Lift and carry up to 25 pounds when necessary.

 

·         This position is based in a stadium and requires working during sporting events, concerts, festivals, and other special events.
