Suffolk University's Department of Athletics is seeking a part-time women's soccer coach who can help recruit and coach a skilled, motivated, hardworking team of student-athletes. As a member of the Conference of New England (CNE), the Suffolk Rams aim to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition and a meaningful student life. Suffolk's unique location allows our student-athletes to take full advantage of the many opportunities and resources that downtown Boston has to offer. Roles/Responsibilities
Collaborates with the head coach on all aspects of the management and direction of the program in conjunction with the overall strategic plan for Athletics; assumes the duties of the head coach in their absence.
Assists in planning and coaching practice sessions and games as directed by the head coach; teaches advanced-level skills and game strategies.
Assist the head coach in scouting opponents to help prepare, plan, conduct, and evaluate practice sessions as required.
Assist the head coach, as needed, in the recruitment of student athletes including but not limited to contacting high/prep school coaches to identify prospective recruits, planning recruiting trips with the head coach, attending off-campus games to evaluate athletes, and preparing and distributing recruiting information.
Education and Skills Needed
At least 1-3 years of previous coaching experience .
Must have strong communication skills.
Compliance with all NCAA, CNE, and Suffolk University.
Contributes to a culture of inclusion and belongingness for all staff members, student-athletes, prospective student-athletes and stakeholders of the department.
Other Job Requirements
Regular physical exertion, walking, and exposure to weather are required; Light lifting required (50 pounds and under).
Ability to work days, evenings, and weekends, and to travel in person.
Recruiting events and tournaments as identified and directed by the Head Coach.
Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License for one year, and maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College’s insurer’s criteria) or a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Skills
Previous college playing and coaching experience preferred.
Experience with software/online programs related to game film (i.e.Hudl, etc.).
Experience recruiting at the NCAA Dlll level.
