Overall Scope of Role

The Senior Accountant will support the Pro Sports & Experiences Accounting operations of the company. Duties include assisting with accounts receivables, creating journal entries for recurring transactions, and performing month end account reconciliations in compliance with financial policies and procedures, including relevant internal control documentation/SOX compliance. This position fulfills an integral transactional and reporting function in the Pro Sports & Experience Accounting group. The position reports to the Pro Sports & Experiences Manager, Revenue Operations.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording varying transaction data
  • Reconcile and prepare daily payment processor transactions
  • Assist with preparing and posting journal entries related to cash, revenue, COGS, and accounts receivable
  • Perform GL account reconciliations
  • Perform routine accounting tasks in line with departmental and operational deadlines
  • Audit all work to ensure accuracy
  • Respond to various ad-hoc requests
  • Maintain all records and files in an organized manner

Qualifications

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry)
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to investigate variances and resolve issues
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and meeting month-end close deadlines
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Interest in growing within a scaling organization and taking on increasing responsibility over time
  • May be expected to work periodically on weekends or evenings during peak close periods, as needed

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Experience in public accounting (top-tier professional services/audit firm) and/or a mix of public and industry experience
  • Month-end close experience and familiarity with basic revenue recognition concepts
  • Experience documenting processes and supporting internal controls/SOX compliance
  • NetSuite (or comparable ERP) experience
  • Experience in sports, entertainment, events, hospitality, or consumer ticketing environments
