The association serves thousands of members across youth, scholastic, collegiate, and professional levels of the game. Dedicated to inspiring coaches and igniting a passion for the sport, United Soccer Coaches delivers nationwide coaching education courses, professional development clinics, advocacy programs, and hosts the premier annual United Soccer Coaches Convention. Position Summary The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leads United Soccer Coaches in the consistent achievement of its mission, strategic vision, and financial objectives. The CEO partners closely with the Board of Directors, provides executive leadership to staff, builds external partnerships, and drives sustainable revenue and programmatic growth across the soccer community domestically and internationally. This is a remote position that requires occasional travel to our central office in Kansas City to provide on-site leadership and oversight of staff. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Business Development
Formulate, implement, and track long-range strategic plans to advance the organization's mission and goals.
Maintain a transparent relationship with the Board of Directors, reporting on financial, programmatic, and operational milestones.
Partner with the Board to recruit, cultivate, and engage a diverse, inclusive, and resource-generating governing body.
Maintain active thought leadership and industry knowledge to identify emerging trends and new business opportunities.
Build strategic partnerships in target markets and oversee revenue-generating activities to ensure long-term sustainability and healthy operating reserves.
Marketing, Communications & External Relations
Serve as the primary global spokesperson, advocate, and brand ambassador for United Soccer Coaches and its members.
Direct comprehensive communication strategies across web, social, publication, and event channels to enhance brand equity.
Foster collaborative working relationships with members, community groups, governing bodies, and external agencies.
Secure strategic commercial partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising agreements with endemic and non-endemic brands.
Staff Leadership & Organizational Culture
Recruit, retain, and mentor a high-performing, diverse management team and staff with clear succession plans in place.
Oversee human resources management, including role definitions, regular performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and mission-aligned workplace culture across all departments.
Finance & Operational Administration
Ensure long-term financial health through rigorous budget monitoring, fiscal controls, and forward-looking financial forecasting.
Maintain overall operational integrity, compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and sound official records management.
Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of core programs, operational policies, and special strategic projects.
Philanthropy & Fundraising
Cultivate an organization-wide culture of philanthropy in coordination with the Board.
Develop structured fundraising campaigns, pursue grant funding, and secure financial resources for member aid, scholarships, and grants.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
Education & Experience: Advanced degree (or equivalent professional experience) alongside significant senior executive management experience.
Growth Leadership: Demonstrated success scaling a performance- and outcomes-based organization regionally or nationally.
Financial & Business Acumen: Strong fiscal management capabilities with an entrepreneurial, adaptable, and data-driven approach.
Governance Experience: Proven track record collaborating productively with a governing Board of Directors.

Communication & Negotiation: Persuasive, polished public speaker and coalition-builder capable of negotiating high-impact agreements and uniting diverse stakeholders.
