Summary
Reed City High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our coaching staff as a Varsity Boys Soccer Assistant for the upcoming season. This seasonal position requires a passion for soccer, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other staff members. The ideal candidate will help foster a positive and competitive environment, ensuring that players develop their skills on and off the field.
Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practice sessions, including warm-ups, drills, and scrimmages.
- Support the head coach in developing game strategies and tactics for competitive matches.
- Help monitor player performance and provide constructive feedback to enhance individual and team skills.
- Assist in organizing and supervising team events, including games, tournaments, and team meetings.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude among players.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
- Assist in maintaining equipment and ensuring the soccer field is in good condition for practices and games.
- Attend all scheduled practices, games, and team meetings throughout the season.
- Uphold the values and standards of Reed City High School's athletic program.
Requirements
- Previous coaching experience or playing experience in soccer at the high school level or higher.
- Strong knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred but not required.
- Must pass a background check in accordance with school district policies.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the soccer season.
