Location: K-12 Building                                                                     
Report to: Athletic Director                                             
 
 
License/Certification:  Valid Ohio pupil activity permit (may be obtained after hire).
 
Background Check: Acceptable BCI and FBI report.
 
Middletown Christian Schools is looking for a coach who embraces our vision, mission, and core values. We are a ministry of Grace Baptist Church and seek to be a Christ-centered educational institution that teaches from a biblical worldview. A person who seeks this position should be one who is convinced that God has called him/her to the ministry of coaching in a Christian school.
 
Spiritual Maturity:
  • Publicly profess a faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Actively engage in the life and ministry of a local church.
  • Pursue a life of spiritual development through regular study of scripture and prayer.
  • Demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit as a byproduct of a growing faith.
  • Believe and support the school’s statement of faith (Statement of Grace Baptist Church).
  • Agree to abide by the Lifestyle Statement.
Coaching Qualities:
  1. Should have complete knowledge of the sport
  2. The ability to teach fundamentals, skills, rules, and regulations of the sport
  3. Be able to organize, plan, and execute practice sessions
  4. Demonstrates strong leadership in sportsmanship, integrity, and character development
  5. Detail orientated
  6. Have the desire and ability to establish rapport with student athletes and their families
  7. Must be familiar with all safety regulations (i.e. Lindsay’s Law)
 
Position Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for issuing, maintaining, and collecting of equipment 
  2. Supervision of student athletes
 
Additional working conditions may include:
  1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
  2. Travels to games and practices:
    1. Occasional operation of your own vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
      1. mainly to and from home to practice or games
      2. majority of the time, school transportation will be provided for away games.
  3. Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items athletic/sport/gym related materials or equipment. e.g., paper boxes, deliveries of supplies and equipment, ball carts, floor mats.
 
Note: The position is contingent on having enough students signed up to play.
