Position:
The Vice President, Marketing is part of the Marketing & Communications department for Minnesota United FC (MNUFC), a sports business located in the Twins Cities area of Minnesota and a member of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top tier soccer league in North America.
Position Summary:
MNUFC is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking Vice President, Marketing to lead brand, fan engagement, and growth marketing across the club and Allianz Field. This is a leadership role that will shape how we show up for fans, partners, and the broader community while driving measurable business results across matches, events, and programming at Allianz Field.
The ideal candidate is a proven marketing leader who blends creativity with commercial acumen, leads through influence, and knows how to turn brand strength into revenue growth.

What You’ll Do:
Strategy & Growth
Set and lead a multi-channel marketing strategy that drives brand growth, fan acquisition, and revenue across MNUFC and Allianz Field
Connect marketing priorities to enterprise outcomes – ticket sales, premium experiences, partnerships, and event programming
Use data and insights to guide decisions, measure impact, and continuously evolve approach
Brand & Storytelling
Serve as a steward of the MNUFC and Allianz Field brands, ensuring consistency, authenticity, and cultural relevance
Lead creative direction and brand evolution in partnership with digital, production, communications, and partnership teams
Champion storytelling that reflects the club’s identity and strengthens emotional connection with fans
Fan Engagement & Experience
Lead innovative campaigns that grow and deepen our fan base
Partner across game presentation, digital, ticketing, and operations to deliver a seamless, best-in-class experience – on matchdays, events, and beyond
Media & Performance Marketing
Lead paid media strategy and agency partnerships to drive acquisition, engagement, and conversion
Integrate paid, owned, and earned channels for maximum reach, efficiency, and ROI
Stay ahead of evolving platforms, audience behaviors, and industry trends
Revenue & Partnership Support
Collaborate with Corporate Partnerships to develop activations and brand integrations that drive partner value and revenue
Align marketing with ticket sales, premium, and event teams to support business goals across all revenue streams
Budget & Resource Stewardship
Manage the marketing budget with discipline, prioritizing investments that deliver the strongest return and long-term brand value
Leadership & Influence
Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team
Influence and align stakeholders across the organization to drive clarity, shared priorities, and collective ownership of outcomes
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Sports Management, or a related field; or a combination of education and experience
10+ years of progressive marketing experience in sports, entertainment, or agency environments
5+ years leading and developing high-performing teams
Proven ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive enterprise alignment
Experience managing media and creative agency relationships
Strong command of audience segmentation, analytics, and data-informed strategy
Business acumen that connects marketing to revenue and growth outcomes
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
Compensation & Benefits:
Minnesota United FC values the contributions of our team members and is committed to transparency in our compensation practices. The compensation range for this full-time (exempt) role is $110,000 - $130,000 annually, with the final offer based on experience and qualifications.
