Girls Soccer Athletic Coach Job Description

Job Summary:

The Athletic Coach will instruct groups or individual players in the fundamentals of girls soccer.  

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Educates individuals, groups, or teams on the rules, strategies, and techniques for girls soccer.
• Plans, organizes, and leads practice sessions.
• Trains, encourages, and motivates athletes to prepare them for games and competitive events.
• Teaches safety rules and regulations and ensures they are enforced.
• Develops physical conditioning programs that equip athletes to meet their potential.
• Evaluates team members to determine fitness levels and potential; assigns positions or roles to athletes based on strengths and weaknesses.
• Ensures athletes are using equipment properly and safely.
• Identifies the strengths and weaknesses of players and modifies coaching strategies accordingly.
• Remains current on changes in rules, coaching philosophies and techniques, and technology relevant to girls soccer.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities: 

• Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
• Extensive knowledge of the assigned sport.
• Ability to work with student athletes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

• Two years of experience as an athletic coach preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

• Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities.
• Prolonged periods of standing or walking.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
