Youth Boys High Performance Soccer Director
San Antonio City Soccer ClubSan Antonio City Soccer Club (SA CITY) is a nationally recognized club that was founded in 2004 and is San Antonio's model youth soccer club.
Position Overview:
San Antonio City Soccer Club is seeking a Director of Boys ECNL to lead our boys National Platform. The Director of Boys ECNL owns the technical direction, coaching staff, and day to day operation of the boys ECNL and ECNL Regional League programs across the u13-u19 age groups. This role is responsible for the quality of the player experience, the performance of the coaching staff, and the growth and retention of the boys side of the club. As the pinnacle of SA City's boys player pathway, the Director will set and protect our championship culture and playing identity while preparing the club's next generation of talent. The Director will also serve as head coach for an assigned team within the boys National Platform. This position reports to the General Manager and is based at our eight field complex at Specht Fields in north San Antonio.
This position is available immediately. Key Responsibilities:
On Field
• Set and own the curriculum, playing model and training standards across all boys ECNL and ECNL Regional League age groups
• Ensure SA City playing identity, coaching philosophy and methodology are delivered consistently in every session and on game day
• Lead player evaluation, team formation and player movement between ECNL and ECNL RL rosters
• Serve as head coach for an assigned team within the boys National Platform
Staff Leadership
• Recruit, hire, mentor and evaluate boys head coaches and assistant coaches
• Run staff meetings, coach education sessions and on field observations with written feedback
• Support staff through licensing and continuing education
College Placement and Player Pathway
• Lead college recruiting support for boys ECNL players and families
• Build and maintain relationships with college coaches across all divisions
• Maintain a clear pathway from Select and ECNL RL into the ECNL platform
Off Field
• Partner with club administration on rostering, league registration, schedules and ECNL compliance
• Coordinate boys training and field allocations at Specht Fields
• Submit showcase and tournament entries on club timelines
• Serve as the primary point of contact for boys ECNL families and hold preseason and midseason parent meetings by age group
• Support tryouts, recruiting and retention across the boys side of the club
Qualifications:
• USSF A License or USSF B License required
• Minimum of five years coaching experience at the ECNL, MLS NEXT, Academy or college level
• Demonstrated record of developing and placing players into college programs
• Experience leading and evaluating a coaching staff
• Strong written and verbal communication with players, staff and families
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel for league play, showcases and playoffs
• Must pass a background check and complete SafeSport certification
Preferred:
• USSF A License
• Prior director level experience within a youth club
• Working knowledge of ECNL competition rules, rostering and event requirements
• Experience in the Texas youth soccer market
• Bilingual English and Spanish
