JOB IDENTIFICATION
Job Title: Youth Soccer Supervisor
Grade: III
FLSA: Non- Exempt
Department: Recreation
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Athletic Supervisor
BASIC FUNCTION
The Youth Soccer Supervisor will coordinate practices and instruct and evaluate players ages 5-14 in the youth indoor soccer league.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Responsible for planning, supervision and safety of the program and activities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of soccer and the ability to assess and assist children’s progress.
- Maintain equipment provided to participants and ensure it is being used correctly.
- Inspect the gymnasium prior to each game/practice and report any unsafe environments to the Activity Supervisor on duty
- Instruct players and officiate any game play.
- Work with other staff efficiently
- Communicate any medical or behavior issues with Athletic Supervisor and Parents.
- Evaluate youth soccer officials.
- Provide First Aid when necessary.
- Ensure the safety of all participants throughout all practices and games.
- Submit accident and incident reports to supervisor completely and promptly.
OTHER DUTIES
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual and Crisis Manual.
- Direct participants in the event of an emergency, such as fire, severe weather
- Communicate with Athletic Supervisor regarding any equipment needing repair or replacement
- Additional duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School student or of higher education.
Experience: Must be at least 16 years of age or older
A minimum of 2 years of soccer experience; playing or teaching
Certifications: CPR and First Aid Certification, Classes available through Park District
