Academy Assistant Coach

The Inter Miami Academy is South Florida’s premier program for developing players from the ages of U4 to UPSL. The Academy Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach to deliver the IMCF development philosophy to maximize the potential of youth players, on and off the field. The holistic approach includes developing youth players using the IMCF game model using, integrated periodization model, and training methodology. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Support the head coach(es) with the following duties; 
  • Create and maintain the IMCF annual training plan (ATP) 
  • Adopt the IMCF tactical / physical periodization model & training methodology 
  • Adopt and implement the IMCF game model (Moments, Phases, and Principles) 
  • Assist in the design and execution of the daily training program for the team and players 
  • Maintain log of training sessions (best practice library) 
  • Track playing time and game performance ratings of all players 
  • Conduct video analysis of the team, individual players, and opposition 
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for the players 
  • Create and conduct individual development plans (IDP’s) for the players 
  • Contribute to scouting duties for the age group, including completing assessment reports on all trialists 
  • Attends & participates in all academy staff and technical meetings 
  • Attend / participate in all training sessions & home games, and away games 
  • May be required to work potential additional camps (i.e. summer, development, etc.)? 
  • All other related duties as assigned 
Requirements

  • Possess coaching licenses from the USSF (or equivalent) required. 
  • Assistant Coach – USSF B License (or equivalent) preferred 
  • Degree from accredited university in a physical education or sport management field preferred. 
  • Demonstrated ability to teach techniques, tactics, physical and psychological components of soccer. 
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and educate youth players. 
  • Demonstrated ability to use video and data analysis as development tools. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions using sound judgment. 
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail. 
  • Strong organizational and personnel management skills. 
  • Knowledge in player development and MLS Homegrown Player requirements. 
  • Knowledge of professional sports team operations, public relations, and/or sponsor relations is preferred. 
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) fluency required. 
  • Strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). 
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends and holidays when required. 

Compensation: 

  • Inter Miami CF offers a competitive contract based on a combination of experience and formal education
