Position Overview

Codman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Varsity Girls Soccer Coach. The Coach is responsible for leading student-athletes in developing their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship while adhering to all school and league policies. This position requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive athletic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching & Team Development

  • Plan and conduct regular practices that focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Instruct student-athletes in the fundamentals of the sport while fostering personal and athletic growth.
  • Ensure all student-athletes meet eligibility requirements and adhere to team expectations.
  • Promote leadership, integrity, and discipline among athletes.

Administrative & Compliance

  • Adhere to all Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and Codman Academy Charter Public School policies and procedures.
  • Manage and submit all required paperwork for participation, including rosters, waivers, and health records.
  • Meet all deadlines set by CACPS Athletics for scheduling and participation requirements.
  • Schedule all non-conference competitions and manage transportation logistics for practices and games.
  • Attend all required pre-season and post-season meetings organized by the Athletics Department.

Equipment & Safety

  • Maintain and inventory athletic equipment and uniforms.
  • Ensure a safe and respectful practice and competition environment for all athletes.
  • Monitor student-athlete well-being and communicate any concerns to school administrators.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the sport and experience leading and organizing a team.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification.
  • Completion of annual Youth Sports Concussion Training Certification.
  • Successful completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Course.

Preferred

  • Previous coaching experience at the middle school or high school level.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
