Full-Time Lead Coach: Career Track, San Fernando Valley (Los Angeles)

Nordic Soccer has grown more than 260% in three years. Contracted by LAUSD, we operate across approximately 16 campuses and serve approximately 1,500 players through after-school development programs, skills clinics, and a competitive club pathway.

We are still opening campuses. We need someone to help run them.

THE ROLE

The Lead Coach runs sites. You coach on the field, you manage the campuses assigned to you, and you lead the part-time coaches working under you. You are the person families and school administrators see when they think of Nordic Soccer.

This is an entry point into the organization, and we will say that plainly. It is where you get seasoned. It is also the position we build our future directors out of, because every campus we open needs someone who already knows how we operate.

WHY THIS IS A CAREER AND NOT A COACHING GIG

You are paid for the whole job, not just the whistle. Session planning, travel between campuses, coordination, and administrative work are all compensated. Most youth organizations pay you only for time on the grass. We do not.

You learn the entire operation. Programming, site logistics, staff management, school relationships, family communication. Coaches who only ever run sessions do not get this exposure. It is what separates a coach from someone who can run a soccer organization.

Compensation is reviewed at one year. This rate is a starting rate.

We promote from within. Lead Coach is the first rung. As we open campuses, the people who run them are the people already here doing the job well. Our growth is not a projection, it is the last three years of our history, and it is what makes this track real rather than aspirational.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Lead on-field coaching across after-school development and club programs for players ages 5 to 12 - Supervise and support part-time coaching staff, including scheduling and on-site guidance - Run daily operations at assigned campuses, including setup, equipment, safety, and family communication - Coordinate logistics across multiple sites - Serve as Nordic Soccer's primary on-site representative to school staff and families

COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE

$25 per hour, up to 37 hours per week. Approximately $48,000 per year at a full schedule. Compensation is reviewed at one year.

Programs operate Monday through Sunday. This position extends across the full week and includes weekend club and game-day coverage. Current emphasis is weekday afternoons and evenings.

WHO THIS IS FOR

An early-career coach who wants coaching to be a profession rather than a side job. Someone ambitious, organized, and reliable enough that a growing organization can build its schedule around them. Someone who wants to be running sites in a year and running regions after that.

WHO THIS IS NOT FOR

Anyone looking for a few sessions a week, a fixed weekday schedule, or a finished job with no room left in it. This position grows, and it asks you to grow with it.

REQUIREMENTS

- Substantial soccer background in playing, coaching, or both - Demonstrated experience working with children - Based in the Los Angeles area, or relocating at your own expense. Relocation assistance is not provided - Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to campuses throughout the San Fernando Valley - Professional communication skills with children, parents, and school administrators - Coaching licenses and certifications preferred, not required
