Main Activities and Responsibilities
The Stadium Government Lead will be a key member of the FIFA World Cup 26 Government Engagement team and will work in close collaboration with government entities and other key individuals responsible for delivering seamless government engagement and protocol operations for the FIFA World Cup 2026. This position requires passionate, skilled, and committed professionals to deliver extraordinary experiences.  

This role will be responsible for supporting the Director of Government Relations in the delivery of the overall project, including:  
  • Assist the Government Relations team in executing a comprehensive government relations game-day strategy for the tournament, ensuring close coordination with Host City Committees, elected officials, stakeholders, and internal departments. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key high-ranking federal, state, and local dignitaries attending matches at the assigned stadium, ensuring smooth coordination and communication. 
  • Coordinate with the Guest Operations team to implement high-level protocol services for key governmental and diplomatic guests. 
  • Work closely with the Safety & Security team to facilitate government official arrivals, stadium access, and escorted movements, ensuring alignment with security protocols.
  • Oversee logistics and operational planning related to government relations projects at the assigned tournament venue.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Your Profile
Education & Qualifications
  • University degree in appropriate subject (or adequate training/vocational education).
  • Solution oriented with a strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills.
  • Positive attitude, patience and persistence.
  • Sound judgement and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment. 
Work Experience
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in government relations, stakeholder management, principal support, or other roles working with senior officials.
  • Experience supporting public engagement plans or communications campaigns.
  • Preferred background in staffing or managing officials.
  • Knowledge of event planning and event project management processes.
  • Awareness of the development and integration of outreach and amplification plans.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and ensure communication with multiple stakeholders. 

Language
  • Fluent in English (required)
  • Spanish and/or French proficiency (strong plus)
  • Additional languages beneficial for dignitary interaction.

Technology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Able to manage digital briefing files, schedules, operational plans, and communication tools.
