Scope of Responsibilities: Cedar Crest College is seeking a Graduate Assistant for women’s soccer. The assistantship begins in August of 2026 and includes 6 credits per semester, a stipend each semester, and on-campus room and board. The Graduate Assistant Coach reports directly to the women’s soccer Head Coach and is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating of all aspects and facets of a successful women’s soccer program at the NCAA Division III level.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Serve as a teacher, leader, and role model to all members of the women’s soccer team

Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of planning, organizing, and executing training sessions that will successfully support and develop the skills of team members

Assist in the recruitment of highly skilled and academically qualified student athletes for the women’s soccer team – including travel to showcases, club ID clinics, high school matches, etc. - Make weekly contact with active recruits via email, text, phone calls, facetime, etc.

Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of all training sessions in the traditional and non-traditional seasons

Assist in all game preparation and management for all matches - Monitor the academic progress of all team members by collecting, reviewing, and providing feedback on weekly academic worksheets that are submitted by all team members throughout the academic year

Assist the Head Coach in the breakdown and review of film for the team, and for individual film sessions for team members

Assist the Head Coach with coordinating official and unofficial visits with prospective student-athletes and their families

Assist in the management of team social media accounts, and when necessary, participate in public relations and media activities

Actively plan and participate in major team fundraising initiatives including, but not limited to

Basket Raffle and Falcon Face-Off - Assist in the preparation, coordination, and execution of ID Clinics, Summer Camps and Clinics, and other initiatives to assist in community relations, fundraising, and recruitment

Manage all team meals for team travel

Assist the Head Coach in the preparation and execution of all Captain’s meetings and development sessions, as well as all team leadership and team culture development workshops

Actively coordinate, communicate, and work with the Head Coach, athletic training staff, and strength and conditioning staff to ensure development of student athletes physical health and well-being

Openly communicate with all campus partners and actively engage in the campus community by forging relationships with members of other offices across campus

Assist the Head Coach in the evaluation of team members, tactics, and statistics of all players throughout the year

Assist in the planning and be an active participant in all team and departmental community service initiatives

Attend all departmental and college staff meetings with the Head Coach

Earn a passing grade on the NCAA Division III Compliance Test

Earn your 12-passenger van certification upon acceptance of the position and drive the van for all team activities when needed

Ensure compliance with all Cedar Crest College policies, NCAA policies, and Cedar Crest College athletic policies

Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree required and college playing experience preferred. Applicant must obtain acceptance into a Cedar Crest College graduate program and maintain academic eligibility.

A valid US driver’s license is required, and completion of the college driver safety program.

Applicants must be able to work an untraditional work schedule (i.e., including nights and weekends)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions :

Visual and hearing ability to perform all required duties related to the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Able to independently travel and transport teams and equipment to other locations for contests and other activities

Sufficient manual dexterity to operate technology and office equipment with or without reasonable accommodations

Able to stand/sit continually to perform essential job functions for the entire workday, including ability to effectively instruct and train student-athletes

Able to work varied hours and a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend as necessary and required
