The facility provides fitness and health programs for non-professional and professional athletes, as well as mid-size corporations on the east coast. In addition to training and fitness, ONYX ELITE also provides innovated nutritional support and strategies as well as full physical therapy services.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Head Performance Physical Therapist located in Richmond, VA at ONYX ELITE. The Head Performance Physical Therapist will lead the design, implementation, and evolution of all therapy services across Onyx Elite programs. This leadership role is central to our high-performance ecosystem, ensuring our clients receive world-class support in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-performance preparation. The successful candidate will combine hands-on expertise with strategic oversight to elevate athlete health, availability, and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Science, Physical Therapy, or related field
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • ATC, CSCS, SCS, and OCS or like certifications are preferred
  • Performance Management and Team Leadership skills
  • Ability to create personalized treatment plans
  • Advanced knowledge of injury prevention, manual therapy, sport rehabilitation, and load management
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing performance therapy programs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Previous experience in sports performance therapy is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in performance therapy or high-performance environments
