This is primarily and event time role providing pre-event setup and testing in Host City locations and providing support event time to the crews deployed to upload content via the  ENG workflows at FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and FIFA World Cup 2026.  

 

This role is responsible for testing and troubleshooting the ENG platform prior to deployment to operational crews event time. This will require engagement with HBS staff (ENG Workflow manager, Venue Managers, Telco Manager) and suppliers (ENG platform vendor and Telco services vendor) to test and confirm operation of the solution.  

 

During event time this role takes on a support and monitoring role, assisting the ENG Workflow Manager with resolving any critical issues as quickly as possible to preserve HBS delivery to FIFA and media partners. This will involve working with ENG Crews, HBS internal teams (Production and Digital) and the ENG platform vendor.  

 

The role will work for the ENG Workflow Manager, who reports to Head of Digital Workflows and their team.   

 

  • Event setup period 
  • Test the ENG workflow via each nominated Inject Point location to prove the end to end operation of the ENG workflow to enable Production operations to commence on time.  
  • Work with the HBS Telco manager and if necessary telco supplier engineers to troubleshoot and resolve issues found with any inject point lines, 
  • Deploy and test any monitoring solutions to enable HBS to assess the state of the ENG platform and workflow in real time during event periods.  
  • Event time 
  • Support event time ENG systems to ensure reliable delivery of HBS’s event time production workflows. 
  • Work with the ENG Workflow manager to resolve critical workflow issues to recover reliable delivery of Production workflows in the event of incidents 
  • Where , provide on site support to the HBS technical teams during event time if inject point locations require on-site action after deployment and testing 
  • Post Event 
  • Support reporting and feedback to HBS on the event delivery 
  • Providing recommendations for improvements to future event technical deliveries based on event time reporting and experience. 

 

General technical skills and knowledge 

  • Previous file based media workflow experience 
  • Ability to engage with multiple vendors at a technical level, including HBS’s chosen ENG and Media Server suppliers.  
  • Networking and file transfer solution basics (SMB, CIFS, File acceleration, FTP, …) 

Specific technical knowledge 

  • Understanding and experience of networking for Video file transport. 
  • Experience of solutions from Signiant, FileCatalyst, Aspera, Massive.IO or other accelerated file transfer tools would be a benefit. 
  • Ability to use PC and Mac based machines with wired and wireless networking, in file transfer workflows with provided tools
