Position Summary:

Lexington Christian Academy (LCA), a faith-based independent school in Lexington, MA, is seeking a JV Associate Head Coach for Boys Soccer. This position serves as the head coach for the junior varsity team and plays a critical role in developing student-athletes both on and off the field. The ideal candidate will embrace LCA’s mission to glorify God in all aspects of school life and help prepare athletes for varsity-level competition through excellent coaching, mentorship, and spiritual leadership.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Player Development

  • Lead all aspects of the JV program, including planning and conducting practices, managing games, and cultivating a positive team culture.
  • Develop athletes’ fundamental skills, game knowledge, and character in alignment with the varsity program’s goals.
  • Collaborate with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure alignment across program levels and support the overall development pipeline.

Mentorship & Spiritual Encouragement

  • Serve as a role model and mentor to student-athletes, encouraging growth in character, sportsmanship, and faith.
  • Uphold and model Christian values; integrate prayer and faith-based encouragement where appropriate.

Program & Operational Support

  • Communicate with the Athletic Director and Varsity Head Coach regarding team needs, player development, and scheduling.
  • Maintain team rosters, attendance, and game records as needed.
  • Ensure that all athletes meet school eligibility, clearance, and safety requirements.
  • Care for equipment and uniforms, and support logistical setup on game days.

Qualifications:

  • Prior coaching or competitive playing experience (high school or higher) preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • A desire to mentor student-athletes and contribute to a Christ-centered athletic culture.
  • Ability to collaborate with the varsity program and broader athletic department.
  • Must pass background checks and complete required school trainings.

Seasonal Commitment:

  • Fall season; approximately 8-12 weeks.
  • Afternoon practices and games 4–5 days per week, including occasional Saturdays.
