The Junior Varsity (JV) Girls Soccer Head Coach is responsible for leading and developing the JV Girls Soccer program in a manner that supports student-athlete growth, skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and preparation for the Varsity level. The coach will foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive environment while emphasizing academic success, personal responsibility, and character development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and supervise all JV Girls Soccer practices, games, and team activities.

Teach and develop fundamental soccer skills, game strategies, and proper conditioning techniques.

Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and respect among student-athletes.

Prepare student-athletes for advancement to the Varsity Girls Soccer program by aligning program philosophy and expectations with the Varsity Head Coach.

Establish a safe and positive team culture that encourages student participation and personal growth.

Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, school administration, and athletic department staff.

Ensure proper supervision of student-athletes during practices, contests, transportation, and team events.

Monitor and reinforce eligibility requirements, school policies, and athletic department expectations.

Collaborate with coaching staff to evaluate player development and program needs.

Maintain and inventory equipment and communicate facility or equipment needs to the Athletic Director.

Attend required athletic department meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.

Follow all school, district, state, and league policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Previous soccer coaching and/or playing experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategy, and player development.

Ability to motivate, mentor, and build positive relationships with student-athletes.

Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Commitment to fostering a positive student-athlete experience and educational athletics philosophy.

CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Must meet all school district employment and coaching certification requirements.

Expectations

The JV Girls Soccer Head Coach is expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to the educational mission of athletics. The coach should prioritize student-athlete development, encourage academic success, and create an environment that promotes confidence, accountability, and team unity.

Time Commitment

The position requires daily practices and competitions during the fall season, including occasional evenings, weekends, team meetings, and off-season communication as needed.
