THE POSITION
Reporting organizationally to the Senior Manager, Venue & Corporate Technology - MEX, the Venue Technology Manager will be a key member of the FIFA26 Technology team and work in close collaboration with the Technology teams in Mexico, Canada and Zurich and other key individuals responsible for delivering venue specific technology related deliverables for the FIFA World Cup 2026 (FWC 2026) at the assigned stadium in Mexico. The role entails coordinating with all relevant parties the planning, implementation, readiness and operations of all event technology services pertinent to the tournament and/or associated events within the assigned stadium/city.
The main responsibilities and oversights of the venue technology manager for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
Ensure all aspects of Technology, Telecommunications and Broadcast Technology Services are implemented at assigned venues in accordance with the pre-agreed FIFA Technology requirements
Lead, build and manage a strong diverse team composed of paid staff, contractors and volunteers for operating the technology services at assigned venue
Lead and collaborate with stakeholder groups, clients, providers, and government entities in relation to ensuring the delivery of technology services across all assigned venues, in accordance with the defined governance structure
Working closely with the TEAP manager to facilitate the collection and distribution of technology requirements for all client groups involved in the FWC2026, including Media, Broadcast, Guest Operations, Commercial, Football Technology Innovation, etc, for the assigned venues
Ensure that all information pertaining to infrastructure, services and spaces needed for the delivery and support of all technology services are communicated to, and understood by, venue/site authorities and respective delivery teams
In collaboration with assigned personnel and Stadium partners, relevant parties (private and governmental) enable / support the timely delivery of venue technology services.
Manage the asset tracking and management of deployed technology equipment
Develop regular progress, risk and issue management reports in accordance with the governance structure / reporting methodologies and, or PMO systems
YOUR PROFILE
Fluent in Spanish and English
University degree or similar higher education in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of 8 years overall IT experience and at least 4 years of experience in sports / major event industry
Proven track record of successful delivery of complex IT programs and projects
Have up to date knowledge and program management expertise in all event related technologies, including, all types of technology business solutions, community access TV (CATV), radio communications, wired communication, printing, broadcast contribution network, spectrum, audio and visual.
