The Team You’ll Work With:
The NYC World Cup team is responsible for ensuring that the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches held in NY/NY take place smoothly and safely, and to identify opportunities for engagement across the five boroughs.

The Problems You’ll Solve:
We’re seeking a Project Manager to join our team on a temporary basis; March – August 1, 2026 (approximate), to support NYC World Cup programming. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, a quick learner, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

- Project management, including task tracking, defining project scope, implementing standard operating procedures, monitoring deliverables, and conducting follow-up from meetings.
- Stakeholder management, including reporting on project status, convening and facilitating meetings, and serving as a representative for the team in interagency and external meetings.
- Research and writing, including basic data analysis and landscape assessments.
- Administrative support, including scheduling, note-taking, and brief writing when required.
- Risk management, including identifying risks and developing mitigation plans to avoid project delays.

About You:
- You have strong writing and communication skills, especially experience developing effective high-level presentations, memos, and reports.
- You have discretion, sensitivity, and attention to detail.
- You have experience with executive communication and high-level stakeholder management.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3+ years of experience in project management, especially cross-functionally or cross-departmentally.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university?

2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities?

3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent approved by a state's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question "2" above?

4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions "1," "2," and/or "3" above?


Preferred Skills
- You have government experience. - You have knowledge of and enthusiasm for soccer.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
